To me, the most important part of being a nanny is building a trusting, nurturing relationship with the child and their family. Children thrive when they feel safe, understood, and supported—and as a nanny, I have the privilege of helping create that environment every day.

My experience with special needs children...

I have hands-on experience caring for children with a range of special needs, including autism spectrum disorder (ASD), ADHD, sensory processing challenges, and developmental delays. I’m patient, attentive, and committed to creating a calm, supportive environment that promotes growth and confidence.
I work closely with families to follow established routines, therapy goals, and communication techniques (such as visual schedules or PECS if needed). I understand the importance of consistency, sensory regulation, and positive reinforcement, and I adapt activities to suit each child’s individual needs, strengths, and interests.
Whether it's helping with emotional regulation, supporting speech and motor development, or simply being a steady, understanding presence, I strive to build trust and connection with every child in my care.

The most important part about being a nanny...

One of my favorite nanny moments was helping a child I cared for—who was initially nonverbal—use simple sign language to ask for things like water, help, or a hug. The first time they signed “thank you” on their own, their face lit up with pride, and it was such a beautiful, rewarding moment. Seeing that growth and knowing I played a small role in helping them express themselves was incredibly special.
