Hi! My name is Tanya. I’m a native Californian, but have lived in Mississippi for almost 25 years now! I love the slower pace of life here and the kindness and warmth of the people. I’m a mother myself, having raised a 14-year-old son. I worked as a college administrator for many years, after receiving a master’s degree and working toward a Ph.D. in French, and studying and working abroad. At this point in my life, I firmly believe that working as a nanny, preferably with infants, is my calling. I adore babies, having cared for newborns as young as 8 weeks old. I pride myself on providing loving, nurturing care while helping babies thrive as they develop cognitively, physically, and emotionally. I am extremely reliable, attentive, mature, an excellent communicator, and always provide a safe, loving environment for the babies in my care. With my near-native fluency in the language, I also love teaching infants French from birth, as I did with my own son.

When the baby I was nannying (then 7 months old; I’d been caring for her 3 months by then and we had already bonded) hadn’t seen me for 4 days (long weekend and the family had gone out of town), she squealed with delight when she first saw me. Then as soon as I held her in my arms, she put her head down on my shoulder and nuzzled my neck. She had never done that before and I was so touched!
