Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I worked at a family in-home daycare (company has now closed) for 5+ years at a younger age. I have also worked with a family from NannyLane before COVID took place (2020).
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
With my previous infant care, I’ve noticed that I do well with "fussy" or difficult infants, when others tend to have a harder time soothing them. This is made possible because I am extremely patient with children. If I notice an infant or child is becoming frustrated, I am more likely to place a pause in the activity, take a break, and start back fresh once I've noticed the child has been soothed. I also enjoy other activities such as Tummy-time and comforting them. Feeding and changing diapers is no issue at all, due to my past experience with over 5 infants through the years.
The most important part about being a nanny...
What matters to me the most when taking care of children is keeping them safe and making them feel comfortable with me. I want children to feel accepted and to view me positively when being taken care of. I enjoy when children look forward to seeing me!
My experience with special needs children...
I have had previous experience caring with special needs children, but not much. I was very patient and understanding with them, making sure to not rush or frustrate them. They were included in everything that the other children participated in. The child in this situation was about 2 years of age.
