A little bit about me

Hello my name is Tayea(Tay-uh)! I am a very outgoing and energetic person. I grew up in a big family so I have lots of nieces and nephews I’ve taken care of along with also babysitting through middle school and high school. I am a CNA and have been working in Senior Care for 5 years, I also worked at a pediatric long term center taking care of medically complex children. I am working towards being a pediatric nurse but I am currently waiting for a spot to open up in my program so in the meantime I wanted to get some more childcare experience since working with kids is what I love to do! I also worked a home healthcare for the past 3 years doing housekeeping, meal prep, driving to appointments/errands, and other ADL’s. I am a huge animal lover and have a golden retriever myself! I am also a big outdoorsy person and love taking every chance to enjoy good weather and nature. I am a very go with the flow person and willing to work with you!

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

CNA senior care facility: 5 years
CNA home healthcare: 3 years
CNA pediatric long-term care: 1 year
Life guard/swim teacher: 2 years

Along with my work experience I’ve also done many hours volunteering with children who live in DV shelters and homeless shelters. I also volunteered at my towns public library planing children and/or teen events, stocking books, updating files, cleaning around the library and reading for story time!

The most important part about being a nanny...

Being able to form personal connections with the kids and the parents. One thing I really enjoyed about working in long-term care is that when taking care of people for long periods of time You really can become part of their family. I care so deeply about everyone that I take care of so I love being able to get to know them more and have a close bond with them and you, so you can trust that you’re leaving your kids in good hands!

My experience with special needs children...

I have been able to gain vauluable experience with special needs kids in my career and personal life. I worked with medically complex kids whose ages ranged from infant-25. This was working with children who are completely dependent on me for their activities of daily living. So I worked a lot with feeding tubes, Wires, Oxygen tubes, ventilators, wheelchairs, etc. My nephew also has autism and I have babysat him a lot, so I have learned some valuable tools for de-escalation. I also participated in peer PE all throughout middle school and high school, which is working with special needs kids so that they can be included in gym and other fun activities.

Taliyaha W. - Seeking Work in New Orleans

Babysitter Available in New Orleans, LA: Taliyaha W.

I’ve been working with kids since I was about 10 years old through my church, caring for children of all ages up until I was 16. That experience taught me a lot about patience, responsibility, and being attentive to different personalities and needs. I helped with everything from keeping younger kids entertained and safe to assisting older kids with activities and routines.
Being around kids so much helped me develop strong communication skills and a calm, positive approach, even in stressful situations. It also taught me how to be dependable and trustworthy, since parents and leaders relied on me to help create a safe and supportive environment. Overall, it’s something that really shaped my ability to care for others, which also connects to why I’m pursuing nursing now.
