More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
The majority of my child education experience is with Billings Head Start. I was a teaching assistant for about two school years. I was responsible for one classroom of 18 children. Everyday we would follow our class schedule and make sure to complete our curriculum while also focusing on the social emotion needs of each child in the classroom. I started my career in childcare at Bright Little Stars daycare/ Preschool. Here I started as a teacher in the infant room with 8 babies ages 6 weeks to 2 years old. We would focus on the needs of the babies but also helping them reach the important milestones ahead of them. During my time at Bright Little Stars I was made the lead teacher of the transition classroom. In this class we had 12-18 two to three year olds. Our main focus was social emotional skills, fine and gross motor skills and helping them reach all the milestones ahead of them. Before I was a certified child care provider I always loved babysitting for family and friends.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I love being outside and playing in the sunshine. I also have experience with planning lessons and activities and I love to do art and sensory.
My experience with special needs children...
During my time in childcare I have been trained in conscious discipline and have had lots of practice using those skills. I also had a brief time period being a one on one aid for a boy with autism and special needs.
