More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I was a nanny in Illinois for a few years when I was younger. I’ve helped out with various of my friends kids and family’s kids when possible. I also did pet/house sitting when I worked remotely so I’ve always been more attracted to helping my local community.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
Crafts, behavioral activities that are engaging, adhd/speech activities and games, reward systems, etc. I have found that kids love nature most so being outside as much as we can, considering.
The most important part about being a nanny...
I’d say, being as present as possible and noticing the little things, especially for larger families. Sometimes, being seen and heard is the most important thing to them. Me being a safe space for them - cultivating that for me is putting honesty, communication, transparency and love first. A child (and parent) feeling they have a safe space while I’m there and mom and dad are away… it’s so important to them and to me. Crafts and outside time, too… watching them focus and laughing, knowing I can make a difference in their lives in those ways… or even getting through a hard moment.
My experience with special needs children...
I have experience - I have multiple friends and family members whose kids are on meds and on the spectrum. I also have one on one experience with a speech impediment. Interacting with them, listening to them and ensuring they are engaging without raging. I did some work in school too helping out the special needs classes from time to time.
The most important part about being a nanny...
Oh wow this is hard… I’d say the little moments are always the best like - going to the park or gymnastics free gym and watching one of the kids I used to sit for just run and run. He had some rage things but once given his space to channel that energy, it was amazing to watch him do his thing! Any arts and crafts project where no one felt left out and everyone was engaged with one another, those were the best moments. When I made a meal they LOVE and ask for a lot etc.

Looking for a summer nanny job!
Full-Time Child Care Provider Available in Buckeye, AZ: Jocelyn N.
Hi my name is Jocelyn. I am currently 19 years old and I am a sophomore in college. I’m back home for the summer and am looking for a summer job. Babysitting/nannying is something I do once in a while and i’m looking for a permanent summer opportunity while kids are on break. I know it’s hard to create a new schedule during summer while kids are on break but parents are not. I’ve had experience with some babysitting with family and even with non-family members. I am trustworthy and I have a younger brother so also knowledgeable in being an older sister. I am willing to do any kind of work and I have no fixed hours meaning I’m free whenever. I also have my license and a car. I promise to take very good care of your children and home.
