A little bit about me

My name is Teresa, I am 28yrs old, and a mother of 4. My love for children began at a very young age. In 2014 I enrolled at DVC and majored in ECE. I received my ECE certification in spring 2015. I got my first job in the field in 2017 and became an infant & toddler teacher at a Montessori school in Pleasant hill and LOVED IT! The age group-3months to 2yrs. We had a very flexible yet structured schedule that focused on educating a child as a whole-physically, spiritually, socially, mentally and emotionally. We NEVER made a child do anything they didn't want to do. We respected them and at the end encouraged communication by implementing sign language daily. We also spoke Spanish and English to the children. After a year and a half, I became the school's director. My position now became an administration role- following licensing guidelines & regulations, maintaining a 1:4 teacher to child ratio, enrolling 24 children year round, etc. I am fully vaccinated and CPR/First Aide Certified.
