A little bit about me

Hello! My name is Tessa and I've been nannying for almost 5 years now.

My last placement was in La Jolla California for two luxury realtors. I was caring for their son Austen as a newborn to 14 months. I frequently traveled with the family and cared for him on a set schedule plus extra needed sleepovers and travel.

Prior to that in 2020 I was a nanny for another family of 3 full time, running the house and caring for their childen. As well as being a childcare teacher's assistant in a daycare setting. My classrooms consisted of babies under 1, and toddlers 1-3 years old.

I love arts/ crafts and Montessori activities.

I also love taking the little ones on outings, pretend camping, dancing, library, for walks, the park, and more!

The last family I worked for loved that I taught their baby sign language. He still can’t talk at 15 months but he can sign!
I also have experience working with children on the spectrum and or/with disabilities.

"Tess was with our family caring for Austen as a newborn until he was 14 months old and she had to move back east. We consider Tessa part of the family and included her at all holidays. Our most special memories are when we all traveled together as a family, their daily beach / library / park outings, and the creative things she did. Recently we purchased a tent and the last few months she would pitch the tent right by the beach with the other neighborhood kids to play. For Halloween and Christmas she dressed them up and made cute scenery around it. She helps create learning lessons at every age level. She also cooked cooked nutritious food for breakfasts and lunches which was really helpful with our busy schedule. Light clean up as well. If you’re looking for someone to care for your child as much as you do you can trust Tessa in your care."

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

In addition to being a private nanny I volunteered through high school as a "big sister" in an elementary school located in Norwich, CT. I was assigned to a child in the 3rd grade. For over a year, I visited her after school to do her homework through their after-school program. We’d play games, activities, but most importantly really bonded.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I really enjoy art projects! I love helping them with finger painting, clay creations, drawing, and Montessori games. I bring my own art supplies with me as needed to do projects with the kids. One time I brought molding clay and we created bowls and painted them.

The most important part about being a nanny...

What's important to me as a nanny is that the child feels seen and heard. It’s important they feel safe and comfort when I am in their care. It’s also important that I have a bond with the child :)

My experience with special needs children...

I have experience with children who were wheelchair bound and or required gait belts. I have experience with dysphagia and food consistencies, Autism, down syndrome, personality disorders, and psychology management training
