A little bit about me

Hi! I'm Thaïs, a senior nursing student at the University of Rhode Island graduating in May 2027 with my Bachelor's in Nursing. I have over 4 years of nanny experience caring for children of all ages and stayed with one family until they moved out of Rhode Island. I also worked as a Behavior Technician supporting children with autism and developmental disabilities. I have experience with diaper changes, feeding, medication administration, potty training, homework help, play-based learning, behavior support, and maintaining daily routines. I completed my pediatric clinical at Hasbro Children's Hospital and am CPR and BLS certified. I'm patient, dependable, energetic, and genuinely love helping children learn, grow, and feel safe. My goal is to build a trusting relationship with every family while providing loving, reliable, and attentive care.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

Relevant experience where I also cared for children includes over 4 years as a private nanny, where I cared for children of all ages and assisted with diaper changes, feeding, meal preparation, school drop-offs and pick-ups, homework, bedtime routines, and engaging educational and recreational activities. I also worked as a Behavior Technician, providing one-on-one care for children with autism and developmental disabilities, where I supported behavior goals, administered medication when needed, assisted with potty training, feeding, play-based learning, and daily routines. In addition, I completed my pediatric clinical at Hasbro Children's Hospital, caring for infants and children while working alongside nurses to provide safe, compassionate, family-centered care. These experiences have made me patient, dependable, adaptable, and confident caring for children with a wide range of needs.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love keeping children engaged with fun, age-appropriate activities that encourage creativity and learning. Some of my favorite activities include arts and crafts, reading books, outdoor play, trips to the park, baking, puzzles, board games, sensory activities, music and dancing, imaginative play, and helping with homework. I also enjoy teaching life skills, encouraging independence, and creating a positive, nurturing environment where children feel safe, supported, and excited to learn while having fun.

The most important part about being a nanny...

The most important part about being a nanny is creating a safe, loving, and trusting environment where children feel comfortable being themselves. I believe a nanny should be someone children can rely on for support, encouragement, and guidance while giving parents complete peace of mind. Building a strong relationship with the family, communicating openly, and treating every child with patience, kindness, and respect are what matter most to me. My goal is to help children feel happy, confident, and cared for while supporting their growth and development every step of the way.

My experience with special needs children...

I have experience working one-on-one with children with autism and developmental disabilities as a Behavior Technician. Every child is unique, so I learned to adapt my approach to meet each child's individual needs, communication style, and personality. My responsibilities included supporting behavior goals, assisting with daily routines, diaper changes, feeding, medication administration when needed, potty training, homework, play-based learning, and encouraging independence. Through this experience, I've developed patience, empathy, and the ability to create a calm, structured, and supportive environment where children feel safe, understood, and able to thrive.

The most important part about being a nanny...

My favorite nanny moment was watching one of the children I cared for grow over the four years I was with their family. Being there for so many milestones, celebrating their accomplishments, and seeing their personality and confidence develop was incredibly rewarding. Building such a close bond with both the children and their parents reminded me that being a nanny is so much more than childcare—it's about becoming a trusted part of a family's life and making a positive impact on a child's growth and happiness.

Emily F. - Seeking Work in East Providence

Part-Time Nanny Available in East Providence, RI: Emily F.

Hi! I’m Emily, a mom of three boys and a lifelong Rhode Islander. I’m currently looking for a part-time nanny position with a family looking for someone caring, dependable, and genuinely engaged with their children.

I have lots of hands-on experience caring for children, both as a mom and through helping care for my nieces and friends’ children. This summer, I’ve been running what we affectionately call “Camp Auntie,” spending my days caring for the kids, keeping them busy with activities, getting outside, and making the most of summer together. Camp Auntie officially wraps up this upcoming Monday, so I’m excited to find a new family to work with!

I love being outdoors, gardening, exploring nature, doing creative activities, and finding fun ways to keep kids engaged. I’m patient, attentive, and understand how important it is for parents to feel comfortable and confident in the person caring for their children. I’d love to get to know your family and see if we might be a good fit!
