Hi! I’m 23 years old and have been working with kids for over seven years. I have experience in both school and clinic settings, working with children and adults with special needs. I have also been a caregiver for some time for memory care. However my favorite work has been within a school system:) I also have a huge love for animals—I even have seven dogs! Since school is out during the summer, I’m looking to pick up extra work, which is why I joined this site. Additionally, I’m about to go back to school to finish my Bachelor’s in Education!

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I have extensive experience caring for and assisting both children and adults. Over the past 7 years, I have worked within the school system intermittently, an assisted living home, and clinic. Ive exploring these different opportunities, but I’ve found that working in schools is my favorite. Additionally, I have hands-on experience as an RBT in a school/ clinical setting, further strengthening my skills in behavioral support and student development. My RBT work is where I implemented behavior intervention plans under the supervision a BCBA to help kids autism, develop social, communication, and daily living skills. I am currently an educational assistant within a school.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love playing games with the children especially cognitive ones that keep them engaged AND they learn. I also (oddly enough) love helping with their studies especially math and language arts/reading. Those were my favorite subjects in school so I enjoy doing them. Another one of my favorite activities anything arts and crafts related. Its awesome learning how to make slime or something of that nature because we can learn about science, make fun stuff, and learn to clean up.

The most important part about being a nanny...

The most important part of caring for anyone is making sure they are actually cared for. I always make sure who Im with is well fed, has something to drink, feels safe and clean, and actually wants me to be there. I always want to make their experience the best I can and as safe as possible for all of us.

My experience with special needs children...

I work with students mostly who have adhd, autism, and other needs that affect their behavior or everyday tasks that they have. Through my years of working it has mostly been with these awesome kiddos. I have cooked for them, cleaned them, and taught them many different skills.

The most important part about being a nanny...

My favorite moments from working with kids has to be them trying to pronounce my name and playing ghost tag. The kids always say "Miss Tijuana, Miss Tibiana, Miss Tina, Miss Biana" and so many more. I love the names they come up with. For reference my name is Tianna (tea-on-uh). The other experience that makes me laugh every time I think about it is when me, my client, another tech, and their client all were playing a game of tag/ghost busters. One tech and client were the monsters and my client and I were ghostbusters. We ran so fast to escape then and attempted to blast them away but unfortunately we lost. My kiddo after that wanted to play that game everyday and when we went into any room after that he would HAVE to check for monsters and make sure we were quiet.
