A little bit about me

Hello Parents, Guardians, and Caregivers!

My name is Tiffany, I'm 48 years old. (How did that happen!?) I will be available for a fulltime nanny position at the end of summer.
I've worked with children for my entire adult life: I completed a 2 year childcare course in high school, worked in daycare, had my own child, managed a Stride Rite store, became a nanny, got a Bachelor's degree in Education, and continued on as a career nanny and newborn care specialist to the present day.
I've worked with newborns to school aged children, some with special needs, allergies, and dietary restrictions. I have very minimal exposure to Spanish and ASL. (My daughter is an ASL Interpreter and can be of assistance, if needed.) I'm tech savvy but have an appreciation for the "old ways". 😉 I am fully vaccinated and boosted.
I am professional, punctual, and dependable. I have plenty of references upon request and have clean dmv, drug, and criminal backgrounds.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I've worked in daycare, school, private homes, and children-related retail for almost 30 years, 20 of them being a professional nanny.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love swimming and going for walks. I'm a big advocate for the arts, so creative play, art projects, music (though I personally have no musical skills) are important to me, as well as literacy and science. I believe in exposing children to different cultures and varying human experiences in order to send a well rounded, kind and accepting person with manners into the world. I like to teach kindness to animals and respect for our planet and everything in it. I am not a religious person, but I respect yours and your right to teach it to your children.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Keeping babies/kids safe is my paramount priority. I am not the person who lets them walk too far ahead of me, in fact, I insist on holding their hand. Accidents happen, especially with the littlest of the littles...walking babies are tough to keep from getting bonks!! But I'm an eagle eye and do my best to keep it to a minimum.

My experience with special needs children...

Very minimal. I have kept a child on the spectrum, one with juvenile diabetes, and others with dietary restrictions and/or allergies.

The most important part about being a nanny...

With 20+ years of nannying under my belt, it might be hard to narrow that down...but most recently the baby (14m) I'm currently with is finally absorbing the ASL (American Sign Language) signs I'm teaching him. I am learning the language, so I only know the basics, (my daughter is an ASL Interpreter) but he's finally starting to grasp it! He signed "(pointing at my other baby) friend" yesterday!

Watching babies learn and grow because of the things I teach them is an incredible (and almost existential) process. Like...I taught you how to say ball. You now know that for the rest of your life because of me! It's a pretty cool thing to be a part of!
