A little bit about me

Hello! My is Tiffany Paden
I’m a junior psych major at UNCC. I’m working towards being an play therapist.
I have lots of experience in child development, I’ve loved psychology and have read textbooks since I was a child. I’ve always been a “mom” at heart so the over 10 years of paid experience taking care of children came naturally to me.

Here’s what you won’t find on my resume.
You won’t see the hours of pretend/real adventures, the inside jokes. You won’t see the excitement when a child can finally understand their homework. You won’t find the research to help that specific child. Nor the work spent to help the child cultivate kindness.

I genuinely love my kids I watch. I I’m flexible and believe all children are different therefore need different approach’s depending on the child. I try to adapt to the family and on need.
I research heavily for any child I am watching to better there development.
I am very excitable; warm and bubbly.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I was a camp counselor/craft director for summer camp in which I would work 22 hours a day. And I do mean cam counselor and craft director I would work simultaneously after I would direct like four classes I would go straight to my cabin and take care of them. It was a lot of fun and I planned and executed crafts for the entire camp for the whole summer across three different age groups. From 6- 17

Not to mention I’ve never not been a main babysitter for families

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Hand made obstacle courses, Arts and crafts, random games made up with random rules, painting, drawing, pretend play, movie nights, baking, cooking, biking, going to the park, and much much more.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Influencing the kids. As a nanny just like parenting the kids reflect your qualities your mannerisms. And whether they remember you or not they will have that as a part of them for a long time. So as a nanny you have to be careful and loving and show them good characteristics to help them develop in to their best selves.

My experience with special needs children...

Hello! I have experience with bipolar children, OCD children, and ADHD children. While this isn’t autism for example it’s still very important to have experience with it and being a psych major I sympathize with all different types of special needs.

The most important part about being a nanny...

This little girl I use to nanny (age 3) hated coloring and drawing but after fine tuning her motor skills and encouragement she started drawing more and one day she drew a Christmas tree! Now it look like a real Christmas tree! She was so excited the whole family and I were too. we put it on the fridge. she’s 5 now and art is still her favorite subject.
