A little bit about me

Hi! My name is Tina and I have a background in special education as an assistant teacher. I've worked with children with special needs, taught in an ABA school with children on the spectrum as well as experience in childhood learning centers with children 2-4. I do have experience with caring for my own infants as a mom, though, my children are now teens. I enjoy working with young children, doing fun educational activities, and helping young learners grow. As a trained ABA therapist, I have knowledge and training on crisis management, redirecting, and reward systems which are great tools for helping any child learn positive behaviors and rewards.

I enjoy writing, reading, arts & crafts, and neighborhood walks. I am an animal lover (dogs are my favorite) and a doggy mom. I do not smoke, fully vaccinated.

I understand that patience, love, nurture, and positive attention are key to a child's emotional development as well as maintaining a positive and fun learning environment.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Just like being a teacher, it is very rewarding and heartwarming to see a child grow and learn. I've worked with children who could not count or read and then suddenly with repetition and patience, they learn and it's an amazing feeling to know that I was a part of that growth.

My experience with special needs children...

I am trained in ABA therapy and have 4 years experience working with children on the low and high end of the spectrum as a teaching assistant in small groups as well as 1:1 settings. I've worked with children with physical behaviors, ADHD, emotional disturbances, and am trained in crisis prevention. As an ABA teacher I have been trained on using a rewards token board system.
