A favorite moment I recall often is that of one of my infants finally learning to sleep without a pacifier. It took a lot of comforting, crying and adjustments to the cradle for this accomplishment. I remember feeling discouraged ,doubting my connection I created to the child. After a food bottle and tedious burping ,I laid him down expecting resistance ,ready to comfort him. Surprisingly, I am met with little fight ,mostly whining then finally sleep.
A lucky fluke perhaps but a breath relieving one. One I remember all the time!
