I love doing any kind of imaginative/pretend play, as well as arts and crafts. I also enjoy spending lots of time playing outside.
The most important part about being a nanny...
I think the most important characteristics of a nanny are patience and understanding. Every child is unique and has different needs, challenges, and personalities. Getting to know each child individually is my favorite aspect of childcare and I have a great passion for helping children grow and learn to express themselves.
My experience with special needs children...
I have worked with autistic toddlers, but not older autistic children.
The most important part about being a nanny...
I have so many, but two things that come to mind are...
1) When my super sweet 1.5 yr old that I had nannied for a few months learned how to say my name (she could only say a few words at the time, so it was really special and sweet to hear her call me by name).
2) Watching my classroom of 2 year olds learn how to play together and start their first friendships.
