Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
Besides my experience with my daughter, I have babysit 3 little girls under the age of 4 for a couple hours. Ive watched them twice since it was only when they would come to san diego and visit. Another was with a 4 year old boy also for a couple hours while his parents had a date night. I have helped raise my two younger brothers and nephew. I have always loved kids and would be the person to watch all kids when it came to events.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I love taking my daughter out, get fresh air and to interact with other kids. If its too cold we will play inside/ find an indoor activity or if its a really nice day we go to seaworld, the zoo, or a park.
The most important part about being a nanny...
I think the most important part about being a nanny is being able to connect with the kid(s). Having them trust you and be comfortable around you. Creating a safe place for them since their parents wont be there. Getting to become one of their favorite people and creating that bond.
My experience with special needs children...
I have helped watch an 7 year old autistic boy. I watched him alone for 3-4 days while his mom was out of town. This consisted of getting him ready for the bus, making breakfast, lunch (for school), and dinner. When he got home we would do homework and than I would let him play. Than showers and off to bed.
The most important part about being a nanny...
My favorite moment being a nanny would be the moments before soccer practice, I created this game to get to know more about eachother. We stand in a triangle and we ask a question out loud and whoever answers correctly you kick them the ball, so then we are creating that bond but also working on skills before practice. It has become their favorite game.
