A little bit about me

Hello! My name is Twila and I am a New Mexico native. Born and raised in Española, NM, I have recently moved to Albuquerque. I am a licensed Elementary teacher and hold my BA in Elementary Education, as well as a TESOL endorsement.

For the past two years, I taught Kindergarten and prior to that taught 3rd grade. Before beginning my teaching career, I worked for the EVHS Upward Bound Program as the Curriculum Coordinator, a Summer Academy Teacher and a UB After School Tutor. During the same time, I also worked as the Adult Leader for Cafe Scientifique Española. Prior to this, I worked at Creation Station Daycare as a Childcare Provider/Teacher.

Although I truly love education, after a year and a half of teaching online due to the pandemic, I have come to realize that the online world of education is not my forte, due to the lack of in-person interaction. Knowing that this will likely be the state of education for a while, I have decided to step away and try a different avenue.
