I’ve been a legal guardian since 2005 caring for over 8 kids and a few adults. I was also a live in Nanny for a family in Slidell,LA.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I enjoy having creative time with kids including painting,writing,gardening and cooking. I also love doing story time. I try to keep them away from the screens and more active. Playtime in the park or home swimming or jumping on the trampoline are all activities I enjoy with the little ones. I also like to take them shopping teaching independent living skills that they will use one day.

I think getting to know the family and the kids so that I know how to best serve them and keep them happy is most important.
My experience with special needs children...
I helped care for a few autistic kids . One was non verbal which taught me what things I needed to pay closer attention to. I also have cared for two people one a minor the other an adult with cerebral palsy.
The most important part about being a nanny...
During my time as a live-in Nanny I experienced nights where the kids couldn’t sleep so I would take them to the Walmart that was 24 hours. We would clearance shop and then have story time which helped them tire out to sleep.
