I was a sunday school teacher for about 7 years, I also did summer camps for the YMCA for about a year, then I switched to the YMCA Kidzone working with babies and toddlers in the daycare center for about a year.

My experience with special needs children...
During my time working in the summer camp I worked one on one with a young boy he was 2 years old non- verbal and he had down syndrome me and him quickly became attached at the hip I quickly learned sign language to communicate his needs, He had my undivided attention once I learned how to communicate and cater to his needs I began to teach him using the things that he understood I changed the environment to fit how he best learned while keeping it fun and educational for him and everyone else.

When I would see my kids and they would reach for me. Or when one of my children starts to retain the information and picks up on things.
