Hi, my name is Val, and im 20 years old. I am currently in college to get my associate degree in Homeland Security, and then after that, I'd like to get my bachelor's degree in business management. I’ve worked for a nanny company for about 3 months now called Belle Nanny Network. So I am very knowledgeable in childcare for children 3 and under as that’s what im usually assigned. But I have no problem taking care of older kids if needed. I do have my own car so I’ll be able to help out with anything. As a Latina I love to cook so anything you’d like me to make for your child I have no problem making it. I do have a strict NO CAT policy as I am highly allergic to cats. I’ve recently been working for a nanny company called Belle Nanny Network for about 3 months now.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

When it's warm, I love to go to the park and the pool. However, I've mainly cared for toddlers, so there's not much I could really do with them. But inside, I love to play with anything they like or just any games they want to play. Screen time is usually up to the parents' comfort.

The most important part about being a nanny...

The most important part is being very vigilant but also having fun. You also should know how to set boundaries and be able to put a firm hand down in the right way for a kid. Kids are very smart but make mistakes sometimes. Yelling off the bat is only going to scare a kid. As a babysitter, I feel like it's important that you know how to explain bad behavior to a kid and then explain why it's not right and how it can be improved.

My experience with special needs children...

I don't have any experience recently, but when I first moved to NJ, I stayed with my grandma. She had this friend who had an autistic daughter. She didn't speak, but she understood words and was fairly calm. On a road trip to Florida, my cousin and I actually taught her how to say "I love you." It made her mom cry because she doesn't ever really talk. It was honestly the best trip ever.
