More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
Iv'e been babysitting neighborhood kids, family members and friends siblings since age 14! After that I worked as an art teacher's aid for kids ages 6-13 for 1 year, this job was really important for me as I got to work with children of all ages. I worked as an au pair/live in nanny for 3 months between high school years which was a really unique experience. This is when I first worked with babies and toddlers for a longer period of time. I'm still babysitting and petsitting but I am looking for something more set now!
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
Arts and crafts are always a go-to! I love movie night/watching cartoons and baking with them when we are staying home but I love taking them out to places such as the zoo, amusement parks, parks, etc! I find these activities to entertain and make the kids happy the most!
The most important part about being a nanny...
To have a good relationship with the kids and parents with a foundation of trust. There is nothing more important than trust in this line of work and being able to click with the family. Children are the most precious beings in this planet and a lot of patience and care is needed to build a good relationship with their nanny. And of course the most important part, loving your job too!
My experience with special needs children...
I have a good amount of experience with children with ADHD and just a little bit with autism.
The most important part about being a nanny...
All of the moments I've spent with the kids are precious to me and they all taught me different lessons, however, one that I cannot forget was the birth of the youngest baby of a family I've been babysitting for, I'm seeing that baby grow up from the day he was born which has been a very special experience. I hold my time as a teacher's aid very dear to my heart as well!
