More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

currently an infant teacher for 6–12 months, and about 3 years ago I did 3-6months and pre-k 4-5.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Since I have worked with a different range of children , the activities obviously varies, but I try to make anything fun and educational for all the kids I care for, but the older children get a more variety of games and lessons, while the babies depending on the age we can do tons of fun motor skills and just work on the milestones that they may be approaching according to their age!

The most important part about being a nanny...

The bond between the child and I! I want there to definitely be a feeling or security and safety on the end for the parents obviously to make sure they feel good about me caring for their child, but with that said for me, I want and need to feel like the kid feels safe and secure with me, that will give us the opportunity be close so they may trust me to teach them and show them things to help them grow!

My experience with special needs children...

When I taught Pre-K I had the opportunity to become familiar with all different types of children , I did work with children on the spectrum ( all levels) and learned ways to approach them and situations that were comfortable for them, I also worked with children that had physical disabilities and required minimal in-school medical attention, and children who had speech impediments or who were just non verbal, working with all the different array of children I have had the pleasure to teach it gave me different ways of approaching any child that could accommodate their needs and comfortability.

The most important part about being a nanny...

A little boy name Nate , who was on the spectrum, when I started working with him didn’t have a big range of food he liked, he ate mostly goldfish and crackers and nuggets, and his mom was concerned that he wouldn’t ever be open to trying anything new, I made it a goal to show him different thing that he may like, “now if you are a parent of a child whose on the spectrum, you know, sometimes when they make up their mind that’s it” lol but even though he was reluctant at first, I saw some wiggle room in Nate, and I went for it, we tried all types of things, and finally I got him to actually eat pasta, like “Pasta” two plates!! I sent a video of him destroying some chicken alfredo to his mom , she was emotional and thrilled and we were abled to introduce more pasta dishes to him, with meat! I will never forget that! It’s my favorite accomplishment to date!
