More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I was a teacher for a Daycare, don’t get me wrong I loved it so much, but I didn’t get to interact with the kids as much we had to follow a curriculum, so I didn’t get to have my creativity flow as much.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
1. Take your child to the park.
2. Play music and dance around the house together.(If allowing to do so)
3. Take your child to the public library (and attend “story time” if your library offers it). Help her pick out books that she is interested in.
4. Read to/with your child.
5. Color in coloring books together.
6. Bake cookies together.
7. Make play dough together and then enjoy shaping it (easy recipes for play dough are available online).
The most important part about being a nanny...
I love being a nanny because I get to make a mess. No neat and tidy business suits for me. I wear what I want (within reason) and show up at work in the morning prepared to get messy. Modeling clay? Watercolors? Baking up a storm? Bring it!
The most important part about being a nanny...
There is no specific moment, all of them make me proud. However, watching the kids grow and develop is amazing. It is very special that the parents allow me to be part of them growing. Watching the child achieve a goal that we have been working towards is the best. For example, when watching an 11 month old we worked on infant/toddler sign language, saying "more" and "thank you". After constant work and positive reinforcement it shortly became a natural , everyday thing. The moment I realize how far they've come, and how much they are developing I feel a huge amount of Joy for both the child and I.
