A little bit about me

My name is Veronica Alcocer, and I am a caring, patient, and dependable childcare provider with over 10 years of experience working with young children. As a kindergarten English teacher, I created a safe, positive, and engaging environment where children could learn, grow, and build confidence.
I also have experience supporting children with Down syndrome and autism, which has strengthened my patience, compassion, and ability to adapt to each child's individual needs. I truly enjoy helping children develop academically, socially, and emotionally while making them feel valued and secure.

Families can count on me to be responsible, trustworthy, attentive, and nurturing. I believe every child deserves kindness, encouragement, and a safe environment where they can thrive. It would be a privilege to care for your children and support your family. Thank you for considering me.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

In addition to my experience as a kindergarten English teacher, I have also cared for children in childcare and family settings. My responsibilities included supervising daily activities, preparing meals and snacks, assisting with homework, organizing educational and creative play, maintaining daily routines, and ensuring children were always safe, happy, and well cared for.

I also have experience caring for children with Down syndrome and autism, providing patient, individualized support based on each child's unique needs. These experiences have strengthened my ability to create a nurturing, structured, and positive environment where children can learn, grow, and thrive.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I enjoy planning fun, educational, and age-appropriate activities that help children learn while having fun. Some of my favorite activities include reading books together, arts and crafts, singing songs, storytelling, outdoor play, nature walks, building with blocks and puzzles, and imaginative play.

I also enjoy helping children with homework, practicing early reading and math skills, and encouraging creativity through music, drawing, and hands-on activities. For younger children, I like incorporating sensory play and simple learning games that support their development.

Most importantly, I enjoy creating a warm, safe, and encouraging environment where children feel happy, confident, and loved. I believe every activity is an opportunity to help children learn new skills, build self-confidence, and create joyful memories.

The most important part about being a nanny...

To me, the most important part of being a nanny is creating a safe, loving, and trusting environment where children feel valued, supported, and free to be themselves. Every child deserves to feel secure, encouraged, and understood, and I believe those feelings help them grow with confidence.

Being a nanny is about much more than supervising children. It is about building meaningful relationships, guiding them with patience and kindness, celebrating their milestones, and helping them develop emotionally, socially, and academically.

I also believe that supporting parents is an important part of the role. By working as a team with families, maintaining open communication, and providing dependable care, I can help create consistency and stability for the children.

Knowing that I can make a positive difference in a child's life and earn a family's trust is the greatest privilege and the most rewarding part of being a nanny.

My experience with special needs children...

I have experience caring for and supporting children with Down syndrome and autism in both educational and childcare settings. Through these experiences, I have learned the importance of patience, consistency, and understanding that every child has unique strengths, abilities, and ways of learning.

I focus on creating a calm, structured, and supportive environment where children feel safe, respected, and encouraged. I adapt activities and communication to meet each child's individual needs, celebrate their progress, and work at a pace that helps them feel confident and successful.

My goal is always to build trusting relationships with both the child and their family while providing compassionate, attentive care. These experiences have strengthened my ability to remain calm, flexible, and positive, and they have deepened my commitment to helping every child reach their full potential.

The most important part about being a nanny...

One of my favorite moments as a caregiver was watching a shy child who was initially afraid to participate in group activities gradually become more confident. By encouraging them with patience, celebrating small achievements, and creating a safe and supportive environment, I saw them begin to smile more, make friends, and eagerly join in learning and play.

Seeing that transformation reminded me that children don't just need someone to watch over them—they need someone who believes in them, encourages them, and helps them feel safe enough to grow.

Moments like these are the reason I love working with children. Knowing that I can make a positive difference in their lives, even in small ways, is the most rewarding part of being a caregiver.
