I was raised with a family friend whose son is wheelchair bound with cerebral palsy, so my love for caring for children with special needs has existed as long as I can remember. I have worked with special needs children at a professional level as an ABA therapist for 3 years, and as a nanny for special needs children for 2 years. I have experience with both non verbal and verbal children, and have extensive experience navigating through various behaviors.

With every family I’ve worked for, my favorite moment is when the children first attempt to say my name. Each child has come up with their very own name for me, as the V sound doesn’t normally come easy to toddlers. I have been called “Bizzian” , “Wee-in”, “Wim-E-wim” etc, and every single name truly makes me smile ear to ear. I never have the heart to correct them, so it becomes my new nickname permanently 🤍. I’ve had families engrave my nickname on mugs and they become my favorite souvenirs.
