Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I love to cook easy meals or bake, play instruments, play imaginary games (school, doctor, fashion show, etc), arts and crafts, outdoor activites or even just hanging out having a picnic at the park! If the parents allow us, i occasionally will take them to the zoo, aquariums, parks, butterfly biosphere, all the fun children-safe places!
The most important part about being a nanny...
Safety is my number one priority. I am always keeping an extra cautious eye out when nannying on the job. But secondly, I think its important to build a safe, comfortable, fun and personal connection with the kids! It's so important to me that kiddies feel comfortable around me but also have the best time while away from their parents!
My experience with special needs children...
I did peer tutoring all throughout middle school and high school. My bosses also have a non verbal autistic daughter who I have watched a few times and love to hangout with her!
The most important part about being a nanny...
I one time took two of the kids i was nannying to the dinosaur museum and butterfly biosphere. Seeing the difference in their play from going to the dinosaurs to the sweet butterflies was hilarious. The butterfly biosphere melted my heart and was so so sweet to see how excited they were when interacting with the butterflies.
