Hi there! My name's Xiomara, and I'm a passionate, creative, and energetic 26 year old who has three years of childcare experience with infants all the way to 13 years of age. I have my associates in Child and Family Education from Antelope Valley College and most recently received my Bachelor's from CSUB in Child, Adolescent, and Family Studies, and I am also First-aid/CPR certified through the Red Cross.

I feel a sense of joy being able to share my creativity with kids and allow them to use their imaginations. I want to be able to pique their curiosity and help them tap into their full potential while also allowing them to have fun while doing so. I love doing crafts, baking, and engaging in pretend play, and I have experience in creating engaging routines, promoting early development, and building strong, trusting relationships with families.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I enjoy all sorts of activities with children. Some indoor activities I enjoy are baking, arts and crafts, playing board/card games, creating science experiments, really anything a kid could imagine and enjoy! I try my best at outdoor sports though I enjoy a good jump rope session as well as gardening, bike rides, chalk drawing, bug hunting, creating obstacle courses, and fort building.

I started working as a babysitter for my own siblings who needed it when I was 14 until I was 20, I looked after my nieces and nephews until they were old enough to start school and no longer needed daytime care, after that I worked for a family for many many years, they had two children ages 8 months and 2 years old at the start of that position I was with them until the youngest started preschool and once they had started school I still worked with them for a year or so, I would still go in at 4 am as the parents where leaving for work and I would be responsible for waking the kids up, getting them breakfast, ready for school then taking them to school, picking them up after and staying with them until their parents returned home from work around 7 pm. I eventually received an opportunity to join a paid internship and pursue a field I'd been interested in so as much as it pained me to say goodbye to these children I'd basically watched grow up, I knew it was time.
