The most important part about being a nanny...
One of the many I can remember, was when I had to work overnight staying with the twins I was caring for. One of them was dealing with insomnia. Their parents were struggling with helping their daughter to fall asleep. I asked for one of the parents shirt and placed it on their daughter's pillow. I then found the most boring book to read first, which I believed helped her mind to slow down. Once I saw that she was very very calm(and bored lol) I read a book that was her favorite. By that time, she had gotten really sleepy and she was out for the count halfway through chapter 2. Since it was warm out earlier we did play with water balloons. Anytime you play with water, somehow you're naturally sleepy later on. This also helped ease in bedtime. Her parents were soooo thankful because they would be up until 12-1am getting their daughter to bed. I got her to sleep by 9p.
