I have been working as a nanny and babysitter for nearly a decade and in that time I've worked with both traditional and non-traditional families from a variety of backgrounds, cultures, spiritualities, and faiths.

Part of my Early Childhood coursework required supervised time spent working with children in a daycare setting.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I enjoy imaginative play - its great being able to see how clever and creative children can be when you give them no limits.

I also like to sneak in some learning into everyday play. Things like counting our steps to practice numbers, or fill-in-the-blank games can really help kids who have trouble learning and memorizing the basics through traditional methods.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Respecting the trust that parents have in me. Especially in the early days of being with a new family, when the parents still don't know me very well. They're taking a pretty big leap of faith and trusting that I'll care for and love their children the way they do and that's not something I take lightly.

The most important part about being a nanny...

A moment that still makes me emotional when I think about it is when the four year old I was nannying at the time suddenly said, "I really love that you're my nanny." It really meant a lot to me!
