Hi! My name is Zariyah, and I am a responsible, caring, and energetic caregiver with a passion for working with children. Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

Working as a swim instructor, where I supervised and taught children of all ages while ensuring their safety in and around the water. This role required constant supervision, patience, and the ability to respond quickly in emergencies. I helped children build confidence, learn new skills, and feel comfortable in a safe environment.
I also have healthcare training through my Medical Assistant program and CNA training, where I learned safety, hygiene, and how to care for individuals in a calm and professional manner. In addition, my hospital volunteer experience in the Mother-Baby unit gave me exposure to caring for newborns and supporting families.

I enjoy doing fun, creative, and engaging activities that help children learn and build confidence. I love swimming and water play (with safety always first), arts and crafts, outdoor play, going to the park, and playing games. I also enjoy reading with children, helping with homework, and doing activities that support their learning and development.

The most important part about being a nanny is ensuring the child is always safe, supported, and cared for in a positive and nurturing environment. I believe it’s important to build trust with both the child and the parents, provide patience and encouragement, and help the child feel comfortable, confident, and happy.

My experience with special needs children...

I have experience working with children with autism through my role as a swim instructor, where I adapted lessons to meet each child’s individual needs and comfort level. I used patience, clear communication, and positive encouragement to help them feel safe and confident. I understand the importance of routine, sensory awareness, and creating a calm and supportive environment. My healthcare training has also helped me develop strong observation, safety, and caregiving skills.

The most important part about being a nanny...

My favorite nanny moment was helping a child who was very nervous and scared in the water finally feel comfortable and confident enough to swim on their own. Seeing their face light up with excitement and pride was so rewarding. Moments like that remind me how important patience, encouragement, and creating a safe environment are for children to grow and believe in themselves.
