Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I personally believe that when it comes to you get children, imaginative and creative play is incredibly important to the development of their minds! I have experience with painting, drawing, and origami!
When it comes to older kids, I am very capable and comfortable teaching them life skills, such as cooking and cleaning. Learning these fundamentals at a young age is incredibly important. In addition to life skills, I am also qualified to work with children on their homework and tutor them when need be.

The most important part about being a nanny...
I think what matters most about being a nanny, is providing a safe space for kids to learn! Making sure that you can keep them safe, while being there to teach them and have fun with them is what being a nanny is all about! If you can do that, than you can truly enjoy those sweet little moments with them!
My experience with special needs children...
I have worked at North Creek Church with students with special needs for several years. I am known to be very patient with children, as well as capable of handling them with kindness and respect.
In addition to this, I also worked as Teachers Assistant for elective art classes in the Sacramento area. This gave me a lot of opportunities to work with kids who have learning disabilities and sensory issues.

One quiet evening, I babysat a little girl who decided that making cookies was the most important mission of the night. She carefully lined up the ingredients like they were old friends and read the recipe out loud, sounding out the tricky words with great seriousness. I let her pour and stir while I helped just enough to keep the bowl steady, and we debated whether or not adding a few extra chocolate chips would hurt. A few extra chocolate chips is always a good idea.
While the cookies baked, we sat on the floor and talked about her favorite stories and what kind of cookie she would invent if she could. Her dream cookie was made entirely out of sprinkles. When the timer finally rang, she clapped her hands, and we shared the first cookie, breaking it in half so it was fair. By the time her parents got home, she was sleepy and proud, holding a napkin-wrapped cookie for later. She was so sweet to me, and I was honored to get to bake with her!

Part-Time Nanny Available in Walnut Creek, CA: Jessica L.
Hello! I'm the proud mom of two wonderful children, ages 17 & 19, & I'm looking for the opportunity to support a family as a part-time nanny. While I don't have professional nanny experience, I have nearly two decades of hands-on parenting experience & I love caring for children. I am a co-owner of a commercial construction company. As business has slowed tremendously over the past few years, my workload is much lighter & I'm now looking to supplement my income by doing something I truly enjoy, like working with kids! I am available M-F 2PM - 6PM & would love to help with after-school care, activities, etc. I was once certified in CPR and First Aid & would be happy to become re-certified if needed. I understand how important it is to find someone trustworthy, dependable, and caring. As a parent myself, I know the peace of mind that comes with leaving your children in capable hands. I would be honored to provide that for your family. I look forward to the opportunity to meet you!
