A little bit about me

Hello, My name is Zyikiea. I enjoy caring for children of all ages. I have a 1 yr old son myself and it’s just amazing to watch him grow. I’ve been caring for children since I was only 13 yrs old. I have a lot of little cousins that I looked after even til this day while their parents went to run errands, or went to handle important business or even just to give them a little break. I don’t look at it as a job but as a learning and growing experience. I even applied some of the experience to raise my own kid. I have learnt a lot and gained patience which is an important key with dealing with children. I enjoy the time and am very creative when it comes to doing activities, DIY projects, and etc. I have previous work experience at the East Oakland Youth Development Center where I started of as Youth Leader for 2 yrs. One summer and the following school year after ,also I was promoted the summer after to science instructor. I loved it and my kiddos did too.

I was a youth leader and science instructor at the East Oakland Youth Development Center which is a Nonprofit Organization for 3yrs as a paid Internship.

DIY, Arts and Crafts, Reading, Math games, Art etc. Outdoor relay race, Exercise, Musical chairs, learning games etc.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Being a nanny is a teacher who’s going to care, teach and look after their kids when they’re on duty. This is a job but a nanny does look at it that way. It’s a learning experience that can be enjoyable with the time being.

My experience with special needs children...

I do not have much experience but I have 2 cousins whom I looked after that’s autistic and I treat them as i treat all of the other kids. They are special true but, in a unique way. I do not exclude them from any activities.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I enjoy watching growth and development. I see all of my kids applied something that I’ve taught them to their everyday lives . It’s amazing.
