A little bit about us

We have 2 wonderful boys who are kind, fun, creative and listen well. They love to be outdoors, learn and create fun games. Our one son with special needs loves to be active- biking, swimming, and is super extroverted. The other is more down to relax and read or play a video game but! Also loves to be outdoors-, swimming, biking etc. They are both always up for a fun adventure!! They are active and engaged and we are seeking someone who is also engaged, energetic, attentive, caring, punctual and trustworthy as a mothers helper/ part time nanny. We truly need help so there isnt time for being on your cell phone.
Both boys have some degree of special needs, and it is vital all applicants are understanding and willing to learn how to work with our children and their needs. Usually that goes for assisting with teaching social cues; managing big feelings; helping communicate needs in an effective manner, etc...

We are looking for someone to help:
During school year: 1-2 days/ week to help with pick up+ after school care, roughly 2-230 pmish - 700 pmish

Summer: 1-2 full days/week 9-4 pm-ish.

Plus:
- occasional date nights
- some weekend day assistance occasionally/as needed.

Must be 18 and have a good driving record and car.
We do also have a black lab, so must be comfortable with cute, sweet big dog!

Responsibilities may include: meal prep, organizing schedule, grocery pick up, and assisting with teaching life skills, confidence building and assisting with big emotions occasionally.

Before you start looking for a nanny job, it's essential to learn about the different types of nannies and how they compare to each other so that you make sure you’re looking for the right opportunities.

The different types of nanny jobs have different nanny responsibilities. The boundaries for nannies duties vary from family to family. However, in general, a nanny is responsible for making sure the children's needs are met, including things like ensuring they have opportunities to play and be active. When tasks go beyond child care, for example, housekeeping or meal preparation, it’s good practice to make sure your expectations are aligned with the family.

There are temporary nanny jobs, even seasonal nanny jobs like summer nanny jobs. Beyond seasonal and temporary nanny positions, there are differences between full-time and part-time nanny jobs. The primary difference being the number of hours you spend at your nanny job every week. For full-time nannies, there are options for live in nanny positions and live-out positions in Virginia. Live-out positions are more common, but each family has their own set of needs that require different types of care, and live in nanny positions can be exactly what some families want.
