Nanny needed for two wonderful children (ages 8 and 10)
A loving family is seeking a kind and experienced nanny to care for two children: a 10 year-old daughter and an 8-year-old on the autism spectrum. I am a single mom hoping to find a caregiver who can become a valued part of the family.
About the 10 year-old: This curious and energetic girl loves music, make-up, skating, hover board, drawing and meeting new friends. She may start out shy and will talk your ear off once she gets to know you.
About the 8 year-old: The youngest is a sweet and creative boy who is autistic. He thrives with routine and predictability. He has a strong interest in crafts, building blocks, legos, sensory toys. Technology needs monitored and catches his attention.
The family is looking for a nanny who:
Has previous experience working with children, including those with autism or other special needs.
Is patient, understanding, and adaptable to individual needs and preferences.
Can create a fun and engaging environment, incorporating age-appropriate activities and therapies into daily routines.
Understands the importance of sensory-friendly environments and can provide appropriate support during over-stimulation or meltdowns.

It would be 2-3 days per week. Each week is going to be set dates to my husband’s schedule. He works 2 days on 2 days off and every other weekend. For example: one week with be Monday, Tuesday, Friday. The next Wednesday and Thursday. It would be from 8am to 5pm. I work from home and will still help when available. when I’m on my lunch break from 12 to 1pm will be a time for you to have a lunch break as well as I’ll care for my son.

General childcare along with some learning time for him would be expected as we are planning to homeschool. Mom takes care of a majority of things regarding our daughter at the moment given her age. Other responsibilities would be preparing lunch for our son, helping with light housework, letting dogs in/out (we have 2 dogs & 2 cats), etc.
We’re looking for the right person for a long-term commitment. Experience in early education/homeschool curriculum is a plus but not required as long as you’re willing to learn as you go. we are both still very involved with our kids but moms work from home is very demanding.
