A little bit about us

Hello, we have a smiley but developmentally disabled child. I want to be honest with you. He can walk, but he can’t speak and is cognitively like a 6-9 month old (although he is 2.5). He also has severe feeding difficulties. He yells and sometimes bangs his head on the floor because he is frustrated that he can’t communicate. He usually bangs toys together or shakes them but cannot play appropriately for his age because of his mental disabilities. He is enrolled in PT, OT, and ST. Ideally, someone would work with him 1 on 1 with the therapists’ recs to try to help him catch up to the best of his abilities.
The job would be Monday-Friday 8 hours most days but a later start on the days that he goes to therapy. He is an overall cheerful child and needs a caregiver who is patient and enjoys special needs children.

Our hope is to find someone who will proactively help our little one reach milestones and learn new skills, so experience with early childhood development and curriculum is a plus. Good communication, a strong attention to safety, and an engaging personality are key.
For part of the year (early 2027), we are looking for someone who can work 7:30am through 5:30pm on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays with room for more flexibility on Mondays and Fridays.

Two kids all day (2 year old and 3 month old), our 5 year old will be in kindergarten and will only be with you before and after school.
