Babysitter Job: The Singh Family with 1 Child
A bit about us and Meera: We are a family in Oakville looking for warm, consistent care for our daughter Meera, who is almost 3 (two years and ten months). She is sweet and playful once she feels comfortable, but she is shy with new people at first and takes time to warm up, so we want someone patient and gentle who can build trust with her slowly.
The role: This is a short term position covering the one week her daycare is closed, Monday 29 June to Friday 3 July 2026 (5 days). All care happens in our home, so there is no pickup, no drop off, no driving, and no pet care. Both my wife and I work from home during these hours, so you will never be alone in the house, but we are focused on work behind closed doors and need Meera happily occupied and cared for.
Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm (about 8 hours a day). We can flex by 15 to 30 minutes either side if it helps you.
Looking ahead: after this week, we expect to need occasional care from time to time, mostly some Fridays and the odd weekend. So if this week goes well, there is real potential for ongoing flexible work on a casual basis. We would love to find someone Meera can get to know and we can call on again.
What the day looks like: Playing with Meera, reading, and simple activities, serving her meals and snacks (food will be prepared, you just help and supervise), and keeping her routine calm and steady. She is out of diapers, so just gentle help with bathroom trips when she asks. We will handle putting her down for her nap ourselves. No housekeeping needed beyond tidying up after her play.
What we are hoping for: Someone experienced with toddlers, ideally with an ECE background or similar, who is reliable, affectionate, and calm. A completed background check matters to us. We would also love to arrange one or two paid trial afternoons before the week, so you and Meera can meet while we are home and she gets comfortable with you first.
