Part-Time Nanny Job: The Higgins Family with 2 Children
Monte Cru, our 3-year-old daughter, and Ridley Dolan, our 16-month-old son, are the sweetest pair of best friends. They have tons of energy and love to play together, always keeping us on our toes. We’re currently working on potty training with our daughter, while our son is still in diapers. Monte Cru wakes up around 7:00 AM, while Ridley usually starts his day a bit earlier, between 6:00 and 6:30 AM, and naps for 1-3 hours around noon. Ridley goes to bed around 6:30 PM, and Monte Cru follows around 7:00 or 7:15 PM. Both kids need some help falling asleep, so we typically hold them until they drift off before transferring them to their beds. We’re looking for someone who can stay active with them throughout the day, limiting screen time to wind-down periods, and engaging them in lots of activities and play. You’ll need to provide meals and snacks—breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks in between.
We also have a sweet and easy dog, Okamo. She eats 2 cups of food first thing in the morning and just needs to be taken out 3-4 times a day. There’s a dog park right in our backyard, making it convenient for play and walks.
Our situation is unique as I will be joining the fire department, and my husband is already a firefighter working 24-hour shifts. We hope to be on the same schedule, so we would need help with our two kiddos about 9-10 days a month, for 24-28 hours at a time. We typically leave around 5:00 AM and return the next day around 7:00-7:30 AM. Additionally, during my recruit school, we may need shorter help from 5:30 AM to 6:30 PM on days when my husband is on his 24-hour shifts. Our finished basement is available if you’d like to stay the night before to make early mornings easier. We’re flexible and willing to work out a schedule that fits everyone!
