A little bit about us

Hi there! I have a 6 year old and 11 year old. I need help in the afternoons picking up the 6 year old and bringing him home. Potentially light help with housework, stop by store in the afternoons or play while I finish work. His pick up time is at 3:20 in Shenandoah and I live in Montgomery next to Conroe. So likely totally time per day would be 1-2 hours. Or we can split and you come 3 days per week for a longer time and I will manage on the other days.

A little bit about us

Hello, my name is Brandy Brumley. I currently work part time as a Real Estate Agent and Banker. Me and my husband have a 9 year old son. He enjoys the outdoors and riding around in the neighborhood with our golf cart or bicycle. I'm looking for a nanny for Monday, Tuesday and every other Friday. The job would include preparing lunch and snack for our son and obviously watching him. He's a boy, so mischief is his middle name. LOL! He's a very happy boy and fun to be around. Hope to talk soon!

What Are After-School Nanny Jobs?

After-school nanny jobs are part-time positions that cover weekday afternoons, usually from school pickup until early evening. They fit nannies who want a regular schedule, students, and people with other commitments in the morning.

Types of After-School Nanny Jobs and Responsibilities

Typical duties include school or bus-stop pickup, snacks, homework help, activities and lessons, and sometimes dinner. Some jobs include a few mornings or school holidays too. Check the school pickup time, the days per week, and whether driving is required.

How to Interview for After-School Nanny Jobs

Once you start connecting with prospective employers, the next step is a nanny job interview. Here are some questions you should ask:

  • What time is school pickup, and which days do you need care?
  • Will I drive, and is a car seat or vehicle provided?
  • How do you handle early dismissals and school holidays?
  • What are the children's activities and routines?
  • Is dinner or light housekeeping part of the job?

Beyond asking these questions, families will want you to have your nanny references ready and ask any questions to show initiative. The nanny job interview is an excellent opportunity to get aligned on the nanny job expectations. By doing this, you can get off on the right foot with your future employer.
