A little bit about us

7 year old boy who is very sweet but needs more attention. I work from home most days but just can’t give him the time he deserves. He will be 8 next month, he’s in 2nd grade at st. Mary’s and is in the chess club. He spends way too much time gaming on the iPad which is my biggest prompt for help. He is smart but needs help understanding the importance of school work. I am blending my family which requires reprogramming once those kids leave due to the huge difference in parenting styles. I believe in accountability and learning from our mistakes…I will not fix them. I help HIM learn how to fix them. I hear from the school what a great help he is but don’t see it at home. He needs someone who can help him understand the importance of work and responsibilities. I have been working with him on this but my job is incredibly demanding and I just can’t give it my all. I would need someone to pick him up from school Monday - Thursday @ 3:45. We utilize the schools aftercare program and right now he’s there until 4:30 or later. I will be home Tuesdays and Thursdays so those days will be approximately 3:45-6:00. Mondays and Wednesdays could potentially be later based on my commute. Summer hours would be 9 am - 4:30 pm Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. That could change to include Monday and Wednesdays pending any camp decisions. Additionally, he plays travel soccer and I have been unable to bring him to practice so this could change the hours two days of the week. (Training days change quarterly) I desperately need someone to help him remember how to “play”. I would like to become a device free home and I am working on that transition now. He is not allowed to watch any YouTube during the week but he could spend the whole day playing Roblox if I let him. We have two birds so there is some bird poop clean up throughout the day…but that’s the least of my concerns! Snacks and meal help would be a bonus!
