A little bit about us
Our family recently moved to Aiken from Hawaii. We are writers and content creators who work from home. We are currently working on our next book and are in need of a nanny/house assistant.
Our son is 1.5 years old. We live in Woodside in Aiken and are looking for someone who is in the Aiken area to help with watching our son and basic house keeping and errands. This would be a part time position with potential to become full time. Starting time 8am. Most days 8-1. Potentially becoming 8-5 if it feels good.
We are very intentional with supporting our son’s development in learning and self esteem building and would love to find someone who is familiar with Montessori or Waldorf approaches to childcare. If you have any experience or interest in either approaches or are willing to learn that is a key standout quality for us! We are looking for someone who will not just watch our son but will be intentional with enrichment activities. Setting up sensory tables, reading books, toy rotations, guided art, walks, part trips etc. We are looking for someone who will help him with his speech, who will enjoy his presence, who will ultimately care for him.
The atmosphere of our home is uplifting, joyful, and creative. There is enough space for you to have your own room, that can be for you during his naps or downtime. We like to retreat away to our office or upstairs or downstairs to write or film content. You will have the main floor and yard to enjoy your day playing and creating fun activities with Atreyu. We have invested a lot into providing him with endless learning toys and stimulation activities so that our home can feel like a preschool for him. We have access to the club pool during warmer months and live on one of the lakes in woodside which you can take walks around.
We are looking for someone who can be with us long term and who Atreyu can develop a relationship with. Looking for someone to start ASAP.

Responsibilities include picking him up from daycare (4 minutes away), bringing him home, snack or finishing lunch, changing his diaper, and putting him down for a 2–2.5 hour nap (bottle + rocking). After he wakes, play, read, or spend time with him in the backyard.
Must have a reliable car and be comfortable with pets, we have a Great Pyrenees and a Staffordshire Bull Terrier. My husband will be out of town, so reliability is very important. He has trips coming up here in the next few months, so we would like the same person to be our "on call" for these trips.
Please reach out if interested!
