A little bit about us

Hello! We are moving to Arlington, VA with our two girls, Leone and Oria.

We are hoping to have childcare for them during the week. They are creative, happy, and looking for someone who will open their minds to new adventures and ideas.

Leone is 6 and her friends parents always tell us - "we always want our kids spending time with Leone, she is such a good example!" She is very sweet full of imagination. She likes to paint and color, is reading a bit on her own, and has decided she will travel to Mars on Friday Saturday and Sundays, then train horses on Monday's, Wednesday's and Thursdays....yes, exactly that.

Oria is full of smiles and dangerously brilliant. She is 3, but her communication is at a 5 year old level. Her attention span is shorter than her sister, to be expected, and is always coming up with new games to play, things to say, and things to learn.

We would expect the Nanny to work hard to keep things interesting and fresh. There will always be repeat, and repetition is important. And there should always be something new to see and discover. Going to museums, new parks, the zoo. Talking them for walks, or doing a lesson about a random topic (Let's learn about what the earth is made of). I have found these opportunities to refresh my own memory on SO many things and they love when we are learning alongside them.

The rest is standard: prepare their meals during the day, clean all their dishes, get their clothes in the laundry, folded and put away once or twice per week, read lots of books, get their toys put away at the end of each day, etc. They can and should help the nanny with many of these tasks, particularly cleaning up. A successful nanny may NEVER have to pick up after the girls because they are doing it themselves!

Be a friend. Be kind. Be patient. Be attentive on the children - not the phone. Be interested. Be interesting.

Our kids will fall in love you with you. That is a lot of trust and a lot of fun.
