About Us
We are two relaxed working professionals in the Edina area with a 6-month-old baby girl. We are looking to have someone start around July (but are flexible). We would love to find a nanny who can stay with us for a year or more. We would greatly value someone with 3 - 5+ years of experience as a nanny, who can teach us a few parenting tricks along the way. Ideally, candidates bring great energy and ideas to engage and entertain babies through their early years, in a way that will help them reach milestones and find joy in every day.

What Are Bilingual Nanny Jobs?
Bilingual nanny jobs are positions where speaking a second language is a valued part of the role. Families may want their children to learn a language, keep up a language spoken at home, or communicate with a grandparent or relative. Your language skills can set you apart from other candidates and may support a higher rate.
Types of Bilingual Nanny Jobs and Responsibilities
Some families want you to speak only the second language with the children, and others want a mix throughout the day. Responsibilities can include childcare, meals, activities, and reading and playing in the second language. Jobs can be full-time, part-time, or live-in, so check the schedule and expectations in each posting.
How to Interview for Bilingual Nanny Jobs
Once you start connecting with prospective employers, the next step is a nanny job interview. Here are some questions you should ask:
- Which language do you want me to use, and how often?
- How fluent do you expect me to be?
- Do the children already speak the language?
- Are there other adults in the home who speak it?
- Is language teaching part of the role, or just everyday conversation?
Beyond asking these questions, families will want you to have your nanny references ready and ask any questions to show initiative. The nanny job interview is an excellent opportunity to get aligned on the nanny job expectations. By doing this, you can get off on the right foot with your future employer.
