A little bit about me…

Hello, I have been a nanny for about 10 years now. I love working with kids! I make sure to be a nanny who reads to them a lot, who gets them outside when it’s nice and love to engage them in art activities. I am kind, compassionate and caring nanny. I make sure parents know their children are happy, healthy, and clean when they get home from work. Thank you. Ask me anything.

A little bit about me…

I am the youngest of two other sisters, both are much older than me. They both have children, (another was just two weeks ago!!) the newborn boy and 5 year old boy to my middle sister, and 6 year old boy and nearly 1 year old girl to my oldest. I live near my oldest sister and have provided child care for her son all his life. During the summers I would spend weeks while she was in nursing school and working playing and taking care of his daily needs. My other sister lives in Florida so I don't have the opportunity to see him as much as I would like. When I care for my nephews we play board games, go to the park, the zoo, and other typical outings that young children love to do. Other experiences I have had working and caring for children is tutoring/mentoring. I worked for both the elmentary and middle school in White Salmon. This consisted of one-on-one time getting to know them and inspiring them to excel in school, but in a more fun way that sometimes teachers can't always connect with their students. After study time, we would do arts and crafts, play frisbee, basketball or some other active activity and just have fun. In the winter time, we would go sledding and build snow castles. After my contract was over, (I participated in track and field) I would go back and visit my little friends often. The relationships and bonds that I made were very important to me. To this day, even though a few years older than when I worked with them, run to me when they see me at the grocery store or happen to visit them after school. There is a special program in the USA that is called Big Brothers Big Sisters. I adopted a little brother from a different school (10 minute drive). He was in the 2nd grade and was having troubles making friends and staying out of trouble. During our time together we would talk about whatever he wanted to talk about, do arts and crafts and play games. He just needed a friend who loved him and he could look up to. In the end, he was the sweetest boy and was very sad to see me go when I graduated from high school. Once a week I was a leader for a program called AWANAs. The age group of children varied from 3-12 years old. It is a church program and there are nearly 100 kids involved. A typical night included playing very active games in a gym, singing, and a lesson. When I was a child I particpated and it has been a part in whole life. I have years of experience with private child care as well. I primarily worked for one family whenever they wanted to go out. He was a school teacher at the high school and his wife worked for our local judge. They had a daughter and son. When I started it was the end of his 3rd grade year and her 1st. My imagination soared while playing with them. They lived near a forest and hiking/biking trail where a creek ran through and we would spend hours down there playing. Also, we would bike and walk to the grocery store or the park for an adventure just to get out of the house on a sunny day. When I graduated from high school and could no longer provide child care since I was going to college, the boy was leading into his 6th grade year and the girl her 4th. I can provide references from all these families and employers.
