If you understand executive dysfunction, object permanence, anxiety paralysis and so on then you are truly in tune with special needs kids. Special needs doesn’t always mean can’t get dressed on their or needs to be fed. It means they can do complex things but simple things like daily chores, routines, or school work is difficult. I don’t need somebody who is judgmental and show in their energy thinking my kids need discipline. My kids are sweet never no to tasks, independent yet need somebody else to help them on with their days cause they struggle with that part of their brain. If you are open minded, willing to explore and learn and understand invisible disabilities, you are just the person for us.

Responsibilities include watching and playing with baby, feeding and diaper changes, light housework (dishes and picking up), and helping keep pump parts clean and ready for use. He's a very happy, amenable baby who still relies on me a lot for feedings and putting down for nap so this arrangement will look a lot like two people partnering together to make sure he's taken care of and gets all the love and attention he deserves. He has an older brother in daycare who is not usually home, but will occasionally be home if daycare is shut down for the day (and I can pay extra on those days if you're willing to help me watch both kids).
I'm pretty flexible with a lot of things. I offer PTO and sick time, can be flexible with hours, etc.
