A little bit about us

My husband and I are looking for a Nanny to help us with our 5-year-old daughter, Ema. We have 3 other children in the home week on and week off, ranging from ages 10-13. Ema has a working diagnosis of autoimmune encephalitis. Due to her health condition, Ema is nonverbal, but she is actively having treatments to help resolve her issues. Ema knows 200+ signs; when she is not sick, she tests at the top 1%. She has improved over the last few months but requires a lot of attention, so we are seeking help, as my husband and I work full-time. We are looking for a full-time nanny. A perfect schedule would be Monday-Friday, 2 pm-6 pm, but could add more hours in the morning if you were comfortable splitting shifts, doing light housework, or running small errands for our business. We could also add occasional date nights or add travel opportunities if you were open to it. Currently, Ema goes to after-school care with her siblings. She also has speech therapy twice weekly for 1-hour sessions, and we would like help taking her to those appointments.

A little bit about us

My husband and I have 2 sweet kids ages 1 and 4 (girl and boy, respectively). We are both doctors, working full time for now so we are looking for someone we can depend on. Most importantly, someone who will keep our children safe, happy and healthy while we’re at work. Responsibilities include taking our to and from school just down the road (hours are 9-4), watching our sweet 18 mo old girl during the day and giving her a fun and enriching day with lots of play time outside, reading, singing, story time at the library, etc. Our youngest thrives on helping her to help herself and do as much independently as she can (it’s pretty darn cute). We’re hoping for someone who has some understanding of Montessori or interest in learning and implementing that approach. Household chores include: Doing the kids laundry, spraying down the counters, vacuuming 1-2 times per week downstairs, grocery shopping/pick up. We keep a pretty clean and uncluttered home at baseline so we just need someone who will help with the light cleaning during nap times, etc. so that we can enjoy more time with our kids when we aren’t at work. Right now the majority of the household chores falls on my husband’s shoulders since I’m working about 60-70 hours each week and he’s working 40. It is definitely wearing on him and us, so we really need to find that special person who is intuitive, caring, flexible and hardworking. Above all else we want to see that you’re someone who genuinely loves being a nanny and get satisfaction from making things better for the kids and the family at large. We would love to interview you if this sounds like a good fit for you. Work hours would vary, ranging from 30-40 hours per week and we can discuss pay. My husband works Monday - Wednesday and has some work from home/ telehealth on Thursday and Friday. We will be gone May and June at another hospital out of town but aside from that we expect to be in myrtle beach and need someone for the next 1.5 years.
