A little bit about me

I'm Annetra (Nee), I believe I could be the nanny you need! I have a loving heart, passion, patience, and experience. I love all things 'Baby' and enjoy nurturing and caring for them. I have a lifetime of familial and over 10 years of total combined professional babysitting, daycare, and nannying experience. I'm also a bonus(step) mom and grandma.

Im great with infants 3 weeks old and up! Infants are my specialty, but I'm great with ages up to 17. I'm experienced with breast milk, diapers, teething, sleep and feeding schedules, nap time, potty training, snacks and meals prep, bath/bed time, etc. My goal is to build bonds, development, and help parents.
I've worked at a Daycare,Camps, and Corporate Events. I'm CPR/first aid and AED certified, flexible, transparent, trustworthy, dependable, and very friendly. I love making positive impressions that last. Clean driving record/background, pets are ok. I send photos and videos of our time too! Lots of references!
Have a good day!

Recent reference

"Nee was the first nanny we worked with when we welcomed our son. As a first time mom, I wanted to know that he would be in excellent hands with someone who is very present and as obsessed with him as I was. Nee was truly so patient and caring in every moment of being with my son. I knew he was in excellent care and was grateful to learn from as I navigated this transition myself. Nee was so sweet, cuddly, playful, calm, patient, thorough and unflappable. She was up for anything (including cutting his nails!) and was so competent and confident. I completely trusted Nee and highly recommend her."

Understand Nanny Responsibilities in New Orleans, LA

Before beginning the search for a nanny, it’s important to understand what you’re looking for and if a nanny is the right choice for your child care needs. In hiring a nanny, first, you should think through what responsibilities you expect your nanny to handle. With that information, you can create a profile so that nannies can reach out to you. The boundaries for nannies duties vary from family to family. In general, a nanny is responsible for making sure your children’s needs are met, including things like ensuring they have opportunities to play and be active. When tasks go beyond child care, for example, housekeeping or meal preparation, it’s good practice to communicate these expectations with your nanny before hiring them. Along with the different duties that you ask for, experience and location can impact how much you should pay your nanny.

New Orleans Nanny Interviews

Once you start connecting with prospective nannies, the next step is a nanny interview. To make things a bit easier, here’s a list of some nanny interview questions to consider asking:

  • Do you have experience being a nanny?
  • How do you handle tantrums? Can you share an experience disciplining children?
  • What sort of household tasks are you open to doing?
  • Are you open to a live in arrangement in New Orleans? Do you have experience being a live in nanny?
  • Are you open to being a nanny in a nanny share?
  • Do you have any references?
  • Are you trained in First Aid or CPR in New Orleans?
  • Do you have a driver’s license in LA? Do you own a car?
  • What salary are you seeking? Are you open to being paid through direct-deposit, pay stubs?
  • What are your expectations around over-time pay and vacation time?

During the hiring process, it’s essential to ask for references, and by asking their references questions you gain a better understanding of they will fit in your family. As you get closer to hiring a nanny, be sure to run a background check to ensure your kids are in good hands. When evaluating a prospective nanny, it’s essential to make sure you’re setting the foundation for a good relationship with your nanny. You can do this by being clear about your expectations around nanny responsibilities and compensation, and of course, by being friendly and welcoming! And of course, as you learn how to hire a nanny, Nanny Lane's nanny services are here to help you along the way.

Daycare vs. Hiring a Nanny

Choosing between putting your child in daycare and hiring a nanny can be a tough decision. While nannies are often more expensive, they provide individualized attention and flexibility. Daycares, on the other hand, prioritize socialization. Our Nanny vs Daycare guide can help you determine what's best for your family.
