My name is Julia. I’m 22 years old (23 in September) and I’m from Brazil.
I’m looking for a family to work as a nanny live out starting in September/October
I am fluent in English and Portuguese.
I work with kids since 2017! In Brazil I took care of a boy for 2 years (I started when he was 7), and in 2019 I came to Michigan to work in a summer camp as a counselor and I took care of kids from 3yo to 17yo! In 2020 I started to work as an aupair and I finished my aupair year with a amazing host family where I’m took care of 3 kids 9yo, 13yo and 15yo!
Now I’m currently working with a family in Birmingham and I’m taking care of a little girl 4yo, but unfortunately they are moving to California so I’m already looking for another nanny position!
I consider myself responsible, energetic, patient and a flexible person. I’m also a strong driver
Please feel free to contact me for any questions regarding my professional experiences and references

Understand Nanny Responsibilities in Troy, MI
Before beginning the search for a nanny, it’s important to understand what you’re looking for and if a nanny is the right choice for your child care needs. In hiring a nanny, first, you should think through what responsibilities you expect your nanny to handle. With that information, you can create a profile so that nannies can reach out to you. The boundaries for nannies duties vary from family to family. In general, a nanny is responsible for making sure your children’s needs are met, including things like ensuring they have opportunities to play and be active. When tasks go beyond child care, for example, housekeeping or meal preparation, it’s good practice to communicate these expectations with your nanny before hiring them. Along with the different duties that you ask for, experience and location can impact how much you should pay your nanny.
Troy Nanny Interviews
Once you start connecting with prospective nannies, the next step is a nanny interview. To make things a bit easier, here’s a list of some nanny interview questions to consider asking:
- Do you have experience being a nanny?
- How do you handle tantrums? Can you share an experience disciplining children?
- What sort of household tasks are you open to doing?
- Are you open to a live in arrangement in Troy? Do you have experience being a live in nanny?
- Are you open to being a nanny in a nanny share?
- Do you have any references?
- Are you trained in First Aid or CPR in Troy?
- Do you have a driver’s license in MI? Do you own a car?
- What salary are you seeking? Are you open to being paid through direct-deposit, pay stubs?
- What are your expectations around over-time pay and vacation time?
During the hiring process, it’s essential to ask for references, and by asking their references questions you gain a better understanding of they will fit in your family. As you get closer to hiring a nanny, be sure to run a background check to ensure your kids are in good hands. When evaluating a prospective nanny, it’s essential to make sure you’re setting the foundation for a good relationship with your nanny. You can do this by being clear about your expectations around nanny responsibilities and compensation, and of course, by being friendly and welcoming! And of course, as you learn how to hire a nanny, Nanny Lane's nanny services are here to help you along the way.
Daycare vs. Hiring a Nanny
Choosing between putting your child in daycare and hiring a nanny can be a tough decision. While nannies are often more expensive, they provide individualized attention and flexibility. Daycares, on the other hand, prioritize socialization. Our Nanny vs Daycare guide can help you determine what's best for your family.
