A little bit about me

Hi my name is Havyn (pronounced like "safe haven"), and I'm 17. I work at a church daycare, and on average look after 3-10 kids almost daily (ages ranging from 3 months to 12 yrs old) though I've loved helping out there since I was about 13. I'm currently a senior in highschool online wich gives me time to work as often as would like to. I work Tuesday, Thursday, and Sunday from 8 am to 3pm, and work Wednesday morning 8-12 and evening 5:30-9 with flexibility of 30 minutes or so if needed. Like most I got my license at 16 and always do what I can to stay safe whether alone or accompanied. I have no previous accidents or dismeaners on my record and have insurance incase something unfortunate did happen. I always try to get places at very least 15 minutes early just to make sure I am where I am needed and I like bringing along a friendly demeanor and music! I ver much hope to work with you and your little ones some time!

A little bit about me

I have 17 nieces and nephews I have worked for CPS for 1yrs and have found a passion for children. I am looking for a more uplifting line of work but am not one to be interested in daycares. I want to help people and understand that even moms and dads have to continue to work and finding a place for your children to go that you're comfortable with is hard. I am great with children and treat and take of each child as if they were my own.

A little bit about me

My name is Amina Abdullahi and I am a recent graduate from Palo Duro high school. As you can see I am fluent in English. To be honest I do not have a professional nanny experience but, I am the oldest of 5 children. I grew babysitting my younger siblings along with my nieces and nephews. I began babysitting at a young age when my sisters were born back in 2007. Since then, I held the responsibility of what I like to refer to as a “second mother”. I bathe, clothed and fed my younger siblings when my mom wasn’t present. I am able to handle children from infant to the age of 10. I can cook and clean. I am playful and know how to comfort kids.

Understand Nanny Responsibilities in Amarillo, TX

Before beginning the search for a nanny, it’s important to understand what you’re looking for and if a nanny is the right choice for your child care needs. In hiring a nanny, first, you should think through what responsibilities you expect your nanny to handle. With that information, you can create a profile so that nannies can reach out to you. The boundaries for nannies duties vary from family to family. In general, a nanny is responsible for making sure your children’s needs are met, including things like ensuring they have opportunities to play and be active. When tasks go beyond child care, for example, housekeeping or meal preparation, it’s good practice to communicate these expectations with your nanny before hiring them. Along with the different duties that you ask for, experience and location can impact how much you should pay your nanny.

Amarillo Nanny Interviews

Once you start connecting with prospective nannies, the next step is a nanny interview. To make things a bit easier, here’s a list of some nanny interview questions to consider asking:

  • Do you have experience being a nanny?
  • How do you handle tantrums? Can you share an experience disciplining children?
  • What sort of household tasks are you open to doing?
  • Are you open to a live in arrangement in Amarillo? Do you have experience being a live in nanny?
  • Are you open to being a nanny in a nanny share?
  • Do you have any references?
  • Are you trained in First Aid or CPR in Amarillo?
  • Do you have a driver’s license in TX? Do you own a car?
  • What salary are you seeking? Are you open to being paid through direct-deposit, pay stubs?
  • What are your expectations around over-time pay and vacation time?

During the hiring process, it’s essential to ask for references, and by asking their references questions you gain a better understanding of they will fit in your family. As you get closer to hiring a nanny, be sure to run a background check to ensure your kids are in good hands. When evaluating a prospective nanny, it’s essential to make sure you’re setting the foundation for a good relationship with your nanny. You can do this by being clear about your expectations around nanny responsibilities and compensation, and of course, by being friendly and welcoming! And of course, as you learn how to hire a nanny, Nanny Lane's nanny services are here to help you along the way.

Daycare vs. Hiring a Nanny

Choosing between putting your child in daycare and hiring a nanny can be a tough decision. While nannies are often more expensive, they provide individualized attention and flexibility. Daycares, on the other hand, prioritize socialization. Our Nanny vs Daycare guide can help you determine what's best for your family.
