A little bit about me

During high school I was employed at a Parks and Recreation Dept. I was to set up daily activities for the morning and evening children that attended. Ages ranged from 3 to 13-being active with up to 15 children at one time.
During college I was a nanny for a family who live in Rice, near St. Cloud, MN, for 2 younger boys-ages 4 and 9. I would go to their house 3 times per week and other days where I was needed. I did activities with them and was involved even outside of babysitting them, such as attending their yearly March of Dimes. After college I was a manager at Hollister (retail clothing store), but left and nannied an amazing 1-year-old little boy for one year in Fargo, ND. I then moved to California and was on-call 2-year-old girl in Santa Monica. In 2017 I nannied a 7-year-old girl in Marina Del Rey; I would pick her up from school and be there with her through the evening- homework, dinner, hang out, bedtime routine.

A little bit about me

Hi! My name is Messiah, and I’m a 21-year-old nanny currently living in Georgia and open to relocating. I’ve always had a deep love for children, which comes naturally from growing up in a big family where I was often the go-to babysitter. Caring for kids has always been a meaningful part of my life, not just a job.

A little bit about me

I am committed to providing exceptional care and guidance, I am very glad that new parenting methods have come, practicing active listening and communication/ positive language /learning boundaries through redirection, because I have seen these methods make such a difference in children but also on the way the whole family can interact for the rest of their lives.

I have experience, patience, and energy. Every day I like to come up with fun and smart ways of playing and teaching. I rather have a screen-free household therefore all day about play, creativity, learning, and exploration.

I have a nutrition degree and I would come up with plenty of meal ideas for all the family. I can always cook and/or precook (for you to have less to worry about when dinner time is coming).
I like to share and discuss the rules day by day with the parents. I'm so excited to find the family that matches me.

She has been a true gift to our family - kind, attentive, and incredibly trustworthy. From day one, she built a beautiful connection with our daughter, creating a safe and nurturing environment where, learning, play and joy are part of everyday. She’s patient, proactive and always engaged. She’s been a wonderful communicator with us as parents and consistently goes above and beyond. We wholeheartedly recommend Gaby to any family. (We’d also like to keep her forever ❤️) She brings peace of mind, professionalism and so much heart to everything she does!"

A little bit about me

My name is Nourit. I am a college student at CSUN in hopes of being a radiologic technologist in the future. I am very ambitious and hard working as I strive to push myself to do my best. I stay positive in situations no matter what I am going through. I enjoy spending time with kids and creating new activities such as crafts, games, or tutoring. I think it is very important to reinforce good behavior from a young age and assist in cognitive growth by enriching children in different ways.

Understand Nanny Responsibilities in Los Angeles, CA

Before beginning the search for a nanny, it’s important to understand what you’re looking for and if a nanny is the right choice for your child care needs. In hiring a nanny, first, you should think through what responsibilities you expect your nanny to handle. With that information, you can create a profile so that nannies can reach out to you. The boundaries for nannies duties vary from family to family. In general, a nanny is responsible for making sure your children’s needs are met, including things like ensuring they have opportunities to play and be active. When tasks go beyond child care, for example, housekeeping or meal preparation, it’s good practice to communicate these expectations with your nanny before hiring them. Along with the different duties that you ask for, experience and location can impact how much you should pay your nanny.

Los Angeles Nanny Interviews

Once you start connecting with prospective nannies, the next step is a nanny interview. To make things a bit easier, here’s a list of some nanny interview questions to consider asking:

  • Do you have experience being a nanny?
  • How do you handle tantrums? Can you share an experience disciplining children?
  • What sort of household tasks are you open to doing?
  • Are you open to a live in arrangement in Los Angeles? Do you have experience being a live in nanny?
  • Are you open to being a nanny in a nanny share?
  • Do you have any references?
  • Are you trained in First Aid or CPR in Los Angeles?
  • Do you have a driver’s license in CA? Do you own a car?
  • What salary are you seeking? Are you open to being paid through direct-deposit, pay stubs?
  • What are your expectations around over-time pay and vacation time?

During the hiring process, it’s essential to ask for references, and by asking their references questions you gain a better understanding of they will fit in your family. As you get closer to hiring a nanny, be sure to run a background check to ensure your kids are in good hands. When evaluating a prospective nanny, it’s essential to make sure you’re setting the foundation for a good relationship with your nanny. You can do this by being clear about your expectations around nanny responsibilities and compensation, and of course, by being friendly and welcoming! And of course, as you learn how to hire a nanny, Nanny Lane's nanny services are here to help you along the way.

Daycare vs. Hiring a Nanny

Choosing between putting your child in daycare and hiring a nanny can be a tough decision. While nannies are often more expensive, they provide individualized attention and flexibility. Daycares, on the other hand, prioritize socialization. Our Nanny vs Daycare guide can help you determine what's best for your family.
