A little bit about me
The majority of my experience is with infants, ages 12 wks to 12 mos. 10 years of this experience was working for an upscale 5-star child care facility. Job responsibilities included managing a classroom of 7 infants, keeping daily records for each child, ensuring that all requirements were met on a daily basis, writing lesson plans & developing age-appropriate activities based on individual development.
For one year, I was a nanny for twins, 8 months of age at the start. After that 2 years caring for 2 boys, ages 3 months & 13 months at start. Daily notes for each child, including feedings, nap times, activities & special communication when necessary. Lesson plans provided, including weekly trips to the local libraries, parks & other fun/educational activities (all seasons).
Also, comfortable with light house-keeping, laundry & pet care.

A little bit about me
I am looking to have a child in my home. I have a daughter that is 8 years old and a son that is 4 years old. This will give them interaction with another children but still get the attention they need. Looking for full or part time.
I have been a child care provider for the past 15 years! I have experience with infants(including preemies) - 10 years old, triplets and 3 kids plus my own at the same time. I am CPR certified and First Aid training with card, a non-smoker and non-drinker and a clean driving record.
I am hoping for a long term commitment. I have a child care contract that goes over everything and that helps both parities.

Understand Nanny Responsibilities in Apex, NC
Before beginning the search for a nanny, it’s important to understand what you’re looking for and if a nanny is the right choice for your child care needs. In hiring a nanny, first, you should think through what responsibilities you expect your nanny to handle. With that information, you can create a profile so that nannies can reach out to you. The boundaries for nannies duties vary from family to family. In general, a nanny is responsible for making sure your children’s needs are met, including things like ensuring they have opportunities to play and be active. When tasks go beyond child care, for example, housekeeping or meal preparation, it’s good practice to communicate these expectations with your nanny before hiring them. Along with the different duties that you ask for, experience and location can impact how much you should pay your nanny.
Apex Nanny Interviews
Once you start connecting with prospective nannies, the next step is a nanny interview. To make things a bit easier, here’s a list of some nanny interview questions to consider asking:
- Do you have experience being a nanny?
- How do you handle tantrums? Can you share an experience disciplining children?
- What sort of household tasks are you open to doing?
- Are you open to a live in arrangement in Apex? Do you have experience being a live in nanny?
- Are you open to being a nanny in a nanny share?
- Do you have any references?
- Are you trained in First Aid or CPR in Apex?
- Do you have a driver’s license in NC? Do you own a car?
- What salary are you seeking? Are you open to being paid through direct-deposit, pay stubs?
- What are your expectations around over-time pay and vacation time?
During the hiring process, it’s essential to ask for references, and by asking their references questions you gain a better understanding of they will fit in your family. As you get closer to hiring a nanny, be sure to run a background check to ensure your kids are in good hands. When evaluating a prospective nanny, it’s essential to make sure you’re setting the foundation for a good relationship with your nanny. You can do this by being clear about your expectations around nanny responsibilities and compensation, and of course, by being friendly and welcoming! And of course, as you learn how to hire a nanny, Nanny Lane's nanny services are here to help you along the way.
Daycare vs. Hiring a Nanny
Choosing between putting your child in daycare and hiring a nanny can be a tough decision. While nannies are often more expensive, they provide individualized attention and flexibility. Daycares, on the other hand, prioritize socialization. Our Nanny vs Daycare guide can help you determine what's best for your family.
